1. Beaches

Split has awesome beaches!The most popular beach is called Bačvice and it is a sandy beach. Obojena Beach is a pebble beach. Kašjuni Beach is also a pebble beach. There is a cafe that offers additional facilities such as deck chairs and parasols. Beach Bene is a real oasis of peace and the cleanest sea. Žnjan Beach has several pebble beaches. 2. Fortress Klis

Klis Fortress spreads along a limestone bluff, reaching 1260ft (385m) at its highest point. It is located 7 miles (12km) northeast of the city center, and can be reached by bus from Split's local bus station. Game of Thrones fans will probably recognize the fortress as Meereen, where Daenerys Targaryen had all those nasty slave-masters crucified in season four. It's definitely a place worth the visit and it offers a beautiful view, especially in the night.

3. Ancient Salona

The remains of the Salona’s old glory lies today at the suburbs of the town of Solin which is only 5 km from Split city center. In the ancient times Salona was a very huge town; in fact, it was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. One of the most interesting monuments still visible is the base of the ancient amphitheater. There are also remains of churches and a museum.

4. Diocletian's Palace

Don’t miss the true gem of the Split city – the Diocletian’s Palace, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. It is a palace, but also a home to many families nowadays. The ticket for the Cathedral is around 20 HRK, the Vestibule and Peristil are used for musical events and the Diocletian Palace Substructures are especially interesting to visit.

5. Marjan Forest Park

This is a must-see in Split. Marjan Hill is a unique relief in Croatia, located on the Split peninsula. From there you have the perfect view of the coast and islands. It’s also great for sport lovers and offer recreation and entertainment along natural trails and trim trails. It is the perfect choice for spending a day in nature and enjoying the natural landscapes.
