The Capital City - Zagreb

The City Centre is touristically divided into two parts: Upper Town and Lower Town. Also, it is important to mention Maksimir Park as a worth-visit place. Each part has a lot of sights and monuments. You can go by foot to Upper Town and also to Lower Town, or you can use Zagreb funicular.

Upper Town

The Upper Town is one of the districts of Zagreb. It refers to the historical location on the city's hillside, being above Lower Town.The district is located in the central part of the city and, according to the2011 census, it has 30,962 inhabitantsspread over 10.12km2(3.91sqmi).

Lower Town is also one of the 17 city districts of Zagreb.It is located in the central part of the city and has 37,024 inhabitants (as of 2011).The official name of the district is rarely used, for it is dubbedcenter(in Croatian: centar) by most Zagreb residents even though "center" encompasses some southern parts of districtGornji Grad-Medveščak.
