Gretagallery is popular small-scale independent art gallery two tram stations to the west from main Jelačić square, near the British square.
It is one of the rare cultural places in Zagreb that is open every monday night and full of people. Greta gallery is home of fine arts, video and sound installations, sculptures, projections and performances. So, each Monday at 20:00 new exhibition is open, and afer it unformal mingle and creative talk starts. Off the record, Greta gallery is place to be for intellectuals, artist, journalists and students.
Space is not too big and sometimes crowd is standing in the front of the gallery. Greta does not follow strict framework, it is a space for all sorts of art that will give you good display about Croatian art scene. Every new event is arranged leisurely and in a very short time presented to the public. Because all of that Greta on monday is probably the best place for cheap drink or two after the opening night (beer or glass of wine is 10kn(1,30€), and chit-chat with cool open-minded people.
Greta gallery is not only for art buffs, everybody can join. And after the exhibition opening you can go to Sedmica (Kačićeva 7a), popular nearby intellectual hangout. Just ask somebody where is it.
