From 26.12. to 28.12 in Zagreb you can see quarterfinals, semifinals and final matches on 45th indoor football tournament Kutija šibica. Most famous tournament in Croatia attracts the best futsal players, as well as some football ones. 
There are six players for one team in the field including goalkeeper ( in futsal there are five including goalkeeper, minifootball six or seven). In first edition of the Kutija šibica in 1971.,a group of football enthusiasts decided to organize a winter footbal tournament, at that time in the only and the most appropriate hall in Zagreb, called "Kutija šibica“(matchbox). Through the years the number of participated teams become higer and higer, from 8 teams first year to record 684 teams in 1985.( this year there are 133 teams). 
The golden years of tournament was the eighties. In those years, together with amateurs, many recognize professional players from former football league played at Kutija šibica. Factory teams, local community, student and street teams were the soul of tournament. Names like Romantic Remiza boys, White pearls, Bosna destroyers, Wounded swan, Professors of defense, Hammer in hand, Chernobyl boys, Pneumonia, Joint blues or Sex firelock more resembled to punk bands, then the football teams. Latter years and today, names of sponsor cafes, restaurants and companies dominate. Although total prize money of tournament is 20.000€, Kutija šibica has the smell and taste of the old days. Cheep tickets, real football lovers, no VIP boxes, no shrimp cathering, only sweat and victory for glory. Old school football time machine. 
Recommodation: best day to come is 26.12.( St Stephen's day/Boxing day). Most popular day, around 3 000 spectators. You will see 4 quarterfinal games in a row and your ticket is valid for semifinal and final.
