Sax club in Zagreb is the best place where Croatian jazz musicians can show their music skills. The Sax club located in Palmoticeva Street 22/2 is the favorite city scene for new and old jazzers and their ensembles. The owners have chosen 4 days for music performances: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Wednesday is reserved for New Croatian Jazz music cycle. In the past seasons, more then 500 concerts were held by Croatian jazz musicians, mostly younger ones, but older and famous ones have been Wednesdays perfomers as well. The programme begins after 9 pm and lasts till 12 pm. Wednesday concerts have been recognized as best ones for jazz lovers in Zagreb.
On Thursdays, few less known music bands promote their music in Sax club. It’s the ideal opportunity for public performance for the musicians of all genres who want to become famous. Also, the visitors have the chance to hear them first before they become celebrities!
On Urban Fridays guests are offered typical friday night: drinks, music and party. You may come with your group of friends, sip cheap drinks and listen to best Croatian cover bands. The entrance fee is 10 kunas (1,5 euros) and the drinks start from 6 kunas (less than 1 euro!). Cover bands perform rock, pop, funk, soul & disco music.
If you want to hear good old r’n’r, visit Sax club on Saturday evening, since Saturdays are reserved for rock & and roll music.
