The climate
The climate of Zagreb is classified as an oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb), but with significant continental influences and very closely bordering on a humid continental climate(Dfb) as well as a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). Zagreb has four separate seasons.

Seasons in Zagreb
Spring, summer, autumn, winter. It has it all. Zagreb weather can be defined by its four seasons. Summer (late May to early September) is hot, with average highs hitting just under 26 °C in July while Zagreb weather is cold in the winter (December to early March); average highs are as little as 3 °C in January. Rainfall is consistent throughout the year and there is no dry season as such.

Spring
In Zagreb spring comes in late March and lasts till early May. Temperature rises gradually and stands around 8 °C in March and 15 °C in May. Both precipitation and sunshine level increase during these spring months. The season again gets ready to welcome tourists from all over the world.

Summer
Zagreb in summer, from May till September, remains warm with the average high of 22 °C. July is considered as the hottest month of the year with 27 °C of average maximum. June, on the other hand, with around 100 mm of rainfall is the wettest month. However, you can frequently visit the city during the season, for the average low which fluctuates between 12-16 °C brings comfort.

Autumn
During autumn, October and November, Zagreb experiences a colder temperature. The average high stands at 11 °C in October and 6 °C in the last month of the season. Moreover, the average low with 4 °C may appear chilly to some tourists.

Winter
From December till March Zagreb goes through a very cold weather. The average high temperature in winter stands at 2 °C while the low remains extremely chilly. January is the coldest month of the year when the minimums falls below -4 °C. However, as the season progresses the level of sunshine increases.
