Experience the Sweet Taste of Autumn at Lovran’s Chestnut Festival

Lovran’s Marunada is more than just a chestnut festival – it’s a centuries-old tradition and one of the most beloved autumn events in Croatia. Held in Lovran and its nearby villages Dobreć and Liganj, the festival celebrates the local variety of sweet chestnuts known as “maruni,” considered among the finest in Europe. Visitors can taste roasted chestnuts, cakes, and liquors made from this autumnal fruit, while enjoying live music, folklore performances, and traditional dances. The streets fill with the aroma of freshly roasted chestnuts and the sounds of laughter, making it an event that combines food, culture, and community spirit.
