In 2008, the Cinema management was given to Zagreb Film Festival, whose goal is to make the cinema the regional film centre. Now, the Cinema Europa owns a title of protected cultural heritage site. Mostly thanks to its interior rich in decorations and post-Art Nouveau details that make the place truly authentic.

When it comes to programme, it’s rich and follows trends in movie art. The organization itself (Zagreb Film Festival Art Association) regularly screens around 60 independent contemporary films per year. They include all genres – feature, short narrative, documentary, experimental, animated, children’s and others. They host festivals and events. Every year Cinema Europa organizes 30 film premieres of all genres. A special focus is on children – pre-school and schoolchildren, as well as teenagers.
